The Toyota Tundra is coming off a complete redesign last year in which it received significant improvements to power, capabilities, comfort and technologies. The follow-up to that redesign, the 2023 Toyota Tundra, is now available at Toyota of Erie, which is the premier Toyota dealer serving Erie Meadville Ashtabula Jamestown Warren and the neighboring communities. As you’d expect, the updates aren’t quite as substantial for year two of the new generation, but Toyota has introduced more ways to personalize the Tundra, including new appearance packages, and it continues to offer seven distinct trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794, TRD Pro and Capstone.
Both cab styles available through our dealership serving Erie Meadville Ashtabula Jamestown Warren have four doors, but the Double Cab has smaller rear doors whereas the CrewMax has full size doors across the board. In both cases, you have the choice of either a 6.5- or 5.5-foot bed. All models have a sheet-molded compound or SMC composite bed that does not require a liner. LED headlamps and 18-inch steel wheels are standard. The SR5 adds LED fog lamps and upgrades the wheels to alloy. The Limited adds 20-inch wheels. The Platinum adds an in-bed power outlet. The 1794 Edition has an exclusive appearance package, and the Capstone adds 22-inch wheels and power running boards.
Toyota of Erie offers two cab configurations for the 2023 Toyota Tundra near Meadville: the Double Cab, which is what the brand calls its extended cab, and the CrewMax, which is its crew cab. The front row is similar across the cab options and provides more than 41 inches of legroom. Both cabs seat up to five in all, and the main difference between them is the rear legroom. The Double Cab provides more than 33 inches of legroom, which is certainly enough for adults, but the CrewMax provides just as much as you get in the front row, which means that your passengers can really stretch out and relax.
Proximity keyless entry, remote start and push-button ignition are all standard with the 2023 Toyota Tundra at Toyota of Erie. A Class IV trailering package is standard with the SR5 and up. The TRD Pro adds a rear locking differential and Fox suspension dampers. An optional TRD Off-Road upgrade adds these enhancements to either the SR5, Limited or 1794 Edition. There is also a TRD Sport upgrade that adds a lowered suspension for better street performance.
The standard powertrain for the 2023 Toyota Tundra pairs a 10-speed automatic transmission with a 3.5-liter V6: 389 hp and 479 lb.-ft. of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard. Four-wheel drive is optional. Standard with the TRD Pro and Capstone and optional with the Limited, Platinum and 1794 Edition is a hybrid powertrain with that engine that combines for 437 hp and 583 lb.-ft.
Standard features for the 2023 Toyota Tundra include an 8-inch infotainment touch screen, wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, adaptive cruise control, a rearview camera system, frontal collision mitigation and automatic lane centering. A blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert becomes standard with the Limited. A trailer guidance system and a 360-degree camera become standard with the Platinum. A head-up display is standard with the Capstone and can be added as an option to many of the other trim levels.
